June 25 Holiday plansho ho ho!! Merry... aight, its not the time yet! :P
Ive decided to type a few lines here to tell you about my holiday plans... There are quite a few of them, so let's get down to it:
Now Im finishing my exams... 2 more to sit (out of 10!), and Ill be freeeeee on Monday. (Horray!)
And also Im doing a working practice in a language school CONVERSA now (www.conversa.pl) - Im translating documents, talking to customers, answering phone calls, etc... so a combination of a translator and a secretary I am. Its for free, I wont get any salary for that, but at least Ill get an additional point for my CV, which is very needed, no doubts about that. Ill finish it on July 25, and on the next day...
I'm flying to England!!!
Hahaha, yes, I did it! I booked a flight for July 26!! And Im proud of myself!! I finally took the decision and put my idea into practice! I found a relatively cheap flight, so Im twice as happy as I should be. Im flying from Poznan to London Stansted, and my boyfriend is going to collect me from the airport. And then we'll go to Hoddesdon together. He is staying there right now, and that's exactly the town in which we're going to spend a lovely time together. Im going back on August 13, so its almost 3 weeks for me in England. During that time Im planning to visit a few places, and of course meet my mates from London. Im extremely happy about it all.
So then after Im back in Poland, Ill begin a certificate course in German, which will last a month and finish with an important exam, which Im hoping to pass (with quite satisfying results, to top it all!) - so this will last till around September 20. And in the very September, from the beginning of the month, Im starting my teacher's practice in a high school in Torun (its V LO for those who might know it)... Im a bit afraid of that, but with a lot of motivation that I have, Im sure I can handle it!
And then October will come... the 4th year of my studies... Whoah, its already the 4th one!! Amazing how the time is quick at passing by...
Im sending you all a powerful hug and wish you the most delightful summer ever! May it be warm and sunny all 3 moths long! May 13 Life`s beautiful, innit ? ;-)It really is !!!
I am in LOVE !!!
Now I'm saying that with all certainty!! I'm with the best man ever!! He is the most intelligent and handsome nut ever!!! (haha, a very biased and subjective opinion, isn't it )
I am happy, happy, happy !!!
Also...
I've made an important decision connected with AIESEC - I'll be leading my own long-term project next year!!! Woot woot!!
I'm having exams in 2 weeks' time!!!! (it's not the beautiful part of my life, not at all, but well... that's just life! ;)
I've got many ideas for the next few months... I mean the summer holidays... And I DFINITELY WANT to go to England, so NO MATTER WHAT, I WILL do it!!! Hear me?! I will!!!!! But this time only for a week or two, can't afford longer.
And well... life's just beautiful!!!
xxxxxxxxxxxx April 17 Just a few linesHey, hey, hey... Last time I was here was in February... And I was busy with everything, ya ya ya... Guess what? Not much has changed! :P
Ive still been in the 3rd year of English Philology studies, still giving extra lessons in English to kids/adults, still working for AIESEC, still going out with my newly acquired (:P) boyfriend, still attending a language school and learning German... and doing plenty other more or less useless/useful (cross out the unnecessary word) things...
In general, life has been pretty good to me these days. Im happy, I think. Oh, and the spring finally came a few weeks ago! This is a piece of optimistic news too. I dont want to think about my exams at the end of this academic year, because there are way too many of them... And I dont know what Im going to do suring the summer holiday, which is one big sh*t issue! Why? Cause I cannot go abroad this year... Why? Cause I need to do my teaching practice in September, and I need to save money... What for? Cause... (the tension increases) I want to MOVE OUT of my parents' house! Yes! Yes, I do! I dont think I can stay here any longer... I mean, its not so bad or anything, but our thinking seems to be completely different on so many issues now... that it becomes really tiring to talk (read: argue) with each other so often. Dont get me wrong - I do not quarrel or fight with my paents every single day or week, but it surely happens more often than it did before. I think I need some freedom, and they cannot fully understand it thinking I will not cope with everything properly. They are pretty conservative, and my way of thinking is too 'fast and forward' for them to stand at various occasions (if you can guess what I mean). So, what I want to do is save some cash and rent a flat with my friends. I already know MY flats accomodation; it is in the very city centre, which means : it is close to my department and... to all the club and pubs! ;) And it is not so expensive, which is an importnat advantage, of course. Ive decided to take a so called student loan, so that it is easier for me to live by myself. I know I cannot ask my parents for financial support, for theyre unable to provide me with such (for the same reason I study in my hometown, just to let you know). Thanks to that loan Ill be able to start living on my own , and adding to that my humble income from private classes - I will surely manage studying daily and paying all the bills in time. ;) Keep your fingers crossed for my idea, please!
The only thing I fear is the talk with my parents. Im more than sure they will not be satisfied with my decision. 'What for do you want to move out if you can easily stay here and save your money for your own future flat?' - this will be their main argument. But the point is I want to stand up for myself, live independently at last! Im 22 this year, I think its high time to start my own life... isnt it?
The more I think about it, the more confused I get... February 02 Happy together !! :D Happy together... is a song by... dont remember whom! ;) Anyway, yes, Im happy too. Everything is clear now, I believe, and I can breathe with relief that all the nerves and stress is behind me. I passed all my exams, Im in perfect agreement with my boy, and Im now enjoying 18 days off university!!! ha! Thats what I call student life, teehee! January 15 Busy Yes, definitely busy recently... Studies (exams starting on Monday, eek!), AIESEC work, classes with kids, attending a language school... - it consumes pretty much time, believe me. Plus, Ive been trying to have som eprivate life for the last couple of weeks... which is now not as colourful as it may have seemed for a while. But! Whatever! I do not care; I just dont want to have any backlog with my studies and project (in AIESEC - Im working on the project called Global School - I dont know... maybe Ive already mentioned that? Ill tell you in details about it next time) now. I definitely have to clear things up with one person (cause supposedly [!] I am not single anymore, hell yeah...), but somehow Im lacking time for that. Shite. :( So, we cant meet as often as we'd like to. And therefore, there have been some misunderstandings lately, of which I hope to get rid asap anyway... Ah, we'll see. So, my lovely people... I should prepare that New Years Resolutions list or something like that - it can actually come in handy... Ill think about it. For now - off I go to bed, nite nite xxx December 17 Funny mood, kinda unusual but...Nobody ever visits my blog anymore.... hehe, no wonder if I don't edit it anymore, I know...
But i thought I could stop by this time to write a few words...
First of all, Christams is coming. I hope you all will have the most beautiful holiday ever surrounded by your closest family and friends. Second of all, have a great New Year's Eve too! I'm organising a party together with two of my friends for our closest crazy people, so I hope it will be awesome. :)
And of course, have an amazing new year, dear MSN Spaces bloggers....
But also, I would like to point to something...
(So maybe it's good not many people read the blog anymore, since it is a private thing, and I have never written so openly about my private life in the blog before...)
I've been really very busy recently. Since I got involved into the student organisation at my university, I have things to do 24/7 - phone calls, meetings, trainings conferences... but I really love it, so I'm happy I've become ppart of AIESEC. :) It's given me an opportunity to develop myself as well as meet very nice friends among them... and not only friends....
Yes, exactly... now I'm getting close to the matter that has already been hinted at in the title of this blog entry. 'not only friends'...hehe, I think I'm falling in love. Or maybe it's too late... cause most probably I've already fallen in love. And I guess this feeling is mutual, so I am extremely happy right now. We meet as often as we can, yet for me it is still not enough. I'd like to devote very minute of a day to be with him... It was really complicated for a while; we said we would stay friends only , and afterwards neither of us felt at ease to say a word on any topic... So we knew it must be something more than friendship... But we knew each other not even a month long at that moment! We thought it was way too short for any feeling to develop. Obviously, it was enough, but we were somehow afraid to admit that. Additionally, I was still a bit 'not ready' for someone else in my life after my last relationship that ended not that long tim e ago actually <September this year>... And he also broke up with a girl some time ago.... So, we struggled not to show any emotion when seeing each other. Believe me, it was tough.
But last Friday... I think I should be grateful to... MARTINI <alcohol, ironically :>. We broke the ice and spoke our minds... And I spent the most beautiful evening in my life... Yes, now I am sure he cares for me; and I told him a day after that I care for him too. So, don't think it was only Martini in our heads that caused all the nice words and behaviour. ;-)
There is only one problematic point here.... He is leaving for London on Thursday... Only for 18 days, but for me this is going to be eternity. I think you must know what I mean and know more or less how I feel. I am both happy and a bit sad. Already waiting for him to come back!
What a crazy feeling; what a funny feeling, a weird feeling.... a very messy feeling!
It does strange things to my heart.
:) October 23 ya, i am alive still...yes, i am very well actually. london is beautiful, brighton is great, but its all over for me now. that is a pity indeed, but! i cant complain too much, cause what ive got here is pretty cool too! i just got to know today i was recruited to become an AIESECer [an internatonal student organisation], so it means there are plenty of opportunities now in front of me! and also this means a party on saturday evening in a new and friendly [i hope!] company. theres gonna be a conference outside my town, which will take 3 days [this fri-sun]. so im gonna learn all the organisation history and rules and the projects well be working on this year. plus, were gonna have that 'horror party' - and i gotta dress up!! geez, no idea what im gonna take with me yet... but ill think of something, hehe. this will be our kind of a halloween party, i guess, hence that theme.
anyways, lifes beautiful and treating me very nice atm. its pretty hectic, true, ive got LOTS of uni work and additional classes with kids. have never had so many of them, therefore ive got very little free time during the week. and weekends? well, classes too, actually, some chilling out from time to time and now aiesec meetings and stuff additionally... oh yes, and sometimes i find some time for studying, teehee!
so, ,to sum it up briefly... i am well, in case you worried [oh come on, at least someone...? :T hehehe]
and when thinking about the holiday....awwww... *daydreaming*... it was really WONDERFUL, full of events, adventures and anything you could think of. :)
I attended lots of parties, met great new people, met my old friends from London, was to Prince's gig, to a few minor gigs by local bands, to Notting Hill Carnival, saw SPAMALT at the Palace Theatre [its soooooooooo good, go watch it if you have a chance!!!!!], was in the cinema and saw TRANSFORMERS [looooolz, only because i had to... yes, i HAD TO, my <ex>boyfriend wanted desperately to go, hehe] and many others.... ahhhhh...ive got thousands of pics too, but it would take me ages if i wanted to post them here... so thats why im asking you, my dearest msn spaces friends - have you got a FACEBOOK ACCOUNT? [ http://facebook.com ] if you do, please message me so that we could find each other's accounts there. :)
cause ive got quite a lot of my piccies posted there...so if you wanted, you could have a glimpse at them there. :)
mucho luvo xxxxx August 29 Ldn.....................................................................................
Dont know what to say; actually i have to update you on the recent events here ...
tbc.
...................................................................................... June 17 A brief updateIt's ages since I last wrote something here... No time mainly...but no enthusiasm as well. ;p
Anyway, here I am to type a few words. I'm in the very middle of my final exams...Still 5 more to go, wish me luck and keep your fingers crossed people, I dont want to resit anything in September!! But thats not the point of this blog entry whatsoever. Dont want to complain on anything this time, ha, surprising, isnt it ? :P
So... its only 13 days left till I fly to England!!!! WHOA!!!! Im so excited about it... Actually its mainly due to the fact its my holiday at last, and Ill be free to do ANYTHING I want again. No need to worry about uni and anything connected with my studies, hell yeah! I definitely need a break. And I deserve it, of course I do <thats the moment when Im not being very modest, oh sorry ;p> !! So, on June 30 Im going first to Warsaw to meet my best friend, Pat... We'll spend around 3/4 hourse together and then she's gonna drive me to the airport. I have to admit it'll be my first time Ive ever flown... And Im very excited about it; maybe even more than the pure fact it is England Im flying to, ooops... ;p hahaha, seriously, Im curious how all the procedures go, etc, and how the clouds look from above. ;p Im sure for many of you its nothing special anymore, but well..its my first time! Yay, okay, next topic. ;p
From Warsaw Im flying to London - Heathrow, hopefully I wont get lost there, and then Ill have to find my way to the house Im going to live in for the next 3 months. :> Oh, and Im not going there on my own, cause that how it may seem, nah nah nah, Im going with the same chick I was there last year, Kamila, and theres one more girl going with us. Though Im not sure whether shes going to spend all the 3 months with us or not... Its Kamila's friend from secondary school... Dont even know her well... Whaeva.
And then it shall begin. All the fun, I mean. I have so many plans connected with this holiday Im not sure if I manage to fulfill them all! But Id love to. These plans include the proper sightseeing of London and Brighton for sure when it comes to England... Maybe even a visit in Manchester to meet Debbie!!! Would be great, really. :) See Debz, I remember you mentioning that the other day. :P And Im also invited to Edinburgh; we agreed on the first days of July... Would love to go there as well, so if everything goes well, Ill probably visit Ahmed too. Oh, and a visit at my friend's in a town, the name of which I dont remember now...err...sorry, hehe. the point is, however, that she's my friend from the uni and is going there to spend the holiday with her boyfriend who is English. So, we've got common meetings in our schedule as well.
And theres one more lovely aspect of this holiday... LOVEly, oh yes... :) My sweetheart's going to turn up in London straight from Brazil on July 10!!! And we'll have 2 weeks for each other, Im so happy about it. :) hehe, its not so 'straight' from Brazil actually, for he has to first fly to the Netherlands, from there to Danemark, and only then will he be able to come to England, but oh who cares! :D The essential part of it is that he's coming and can stay for 2 weeks!!! :D I cant wait really. Only 23 days to that!
Uh, so thats basically it... I need to do a lot of shopping still, but for the time being I have no...time. My last exam is on June 27, so Im hoping to start and succeed in buying everything I need during those 2 days left! Yeah, we'll see. Im taking my new digital camera with me this time, so itll be easier/quicker to share the photos. So, ADIOS for now, my MSNspaces fellows. ;) Have a lovely summer time, spend it as best as you can! It is definitely worth it. ;)
And later... i'll be back. May 06 Another Tickle TestYou scored 133 on Tickle's IQ test.
This means that based on your answers, your IQ score is between 123 and 133. Most people's IQs are between 70 and 130. In fact, 95% of all people have IQs within that range. 68% of people score between 80 and 120.
Your Intellectual Type is Facts Curator. This means you are highly intelligent and have picked up an impressive and unique collection of facts and figures over the years. You've got a remarkable vocabulary and exceptional math skills — which puts you in the same class as brainiacs like Bill Gates. Whether or not you intend to absorb every piece of information that comes your way, your mind has certain steel-trap qualities to it. You are a knowledge sponge. You have almost enough words in your head to fill a dictionary, and you're equally adept when it comes to manipulating numbers. You can also detect important patterns in number sequences, and probably remember the mnemonic devices you were taught in grade school.
Your 4 Intelligence Scales:
Based on the results of your test, Tickle divided your scores into four distinguishable dimensions — mathematical intelligence, visual-spatial intelligence, linguistic intelligence and logic intelligence.
Here's how each of your intelligence scores break down:
Mathematical Intelligence Your Mathematical Percentile
Your mathematical intelligence score represents your combined ability to reason and calculate. You scored relatively high, which means you're probably the one your friends look to when splitting the lunch bill or calculating your waitresses' tip. You may or may not be known as a math whiz, but number crunching might come a little easier to you than it does others.
This is the kind of question that helped to determine your mathematical intelligence score:
A boy is 4 years old and his sister is three times as old as he is. When the boy is 12 years old, how old will his sister be? 16, 20, 24, 28, 32. answer: 20. The sister is (3 )three times older than her (4) four-year-old brother. Three times 4 is 12, in other words, when he is four, she is 12. Twelve years old is 8 years older than 4 years old, which makes her 8 years older than him. This never changes. Therefore, when he is 12, she is still 8 years older, or 12+8=20. [And I got it right.]
Visual-Spatial Intelligence Your Visual-Spatial Percentile
The visual-spatial component of intelligence measures your ability to extract a visual pattern and from that envision what should come next in a sequence. Your score was relatively high, which could mean that you're the one navigating the map when you're on an outing with friends. You have, in some capacity, an ability to think in pictures. Maybe this strength comes out in subtle ways, like how you play chess or form metaphors.
Here's the type of question that contributed to your visual-spatial intelligence score:
The answer lies in recognizing not only the visual sequence of a square and then a line, but in the recognizing the solidity of the line in the first example and the broken quality of the line in the second example. [I was suspicious of the answer, for it was too obvious.]
Linguistic Intelligence Your Linguistic Percentile
Linguistic abilities include reading, writing and communicating with words. Tickle's test measures knowledge of vocabulary, ease in completing word analogies and the ability to think critically about a statement based on its semantic structure. Your score was relatively high, which could mean you know your way around a bookstore and maybe like to bandy about the occasional 25-cent word to impress friends.
Here's the type of question that contributed to your linguistic intelligence scale score:
Inept is the opposite of: Answer: Skillful. The answer is derived by prior knowledge that "inept" means "unskillful" (Oxford Concise Dictionary). [You just know the word, you know the answer...another suspicious question.]
Logical Intelligence Your Logical Percentile
Tickle's logical intelligence questions assess your ability to think things through. The questions determine the extent to which you use reasoning and logic to determine the best solution to a problem. Your logic score was relatively high, which could mean that when the car breaks down, your friends look to you to help figure out not only what's wrong, but how to fix it and how you're going to get to the next gas station.
Here's the kind of question that contributed to your logical intelligence score: If some Wicks are Slicks and some Slicks are Snicks, then some Wicks are definitely Snicks. True or false? Answer: False The statement is false because while some Wicks might be Slicks, there is no conclusive proof that any of them might be Snicks. [And I did it WRONG!! :P]
I summed up the results, and I know that I got 6 wrong out of 40. Hm, not bad, but could be better. The test was not difficult, it was funny. If you want to try, I strongly recommend it, the results will brighten your day. ;)
May 05 Wee, it's me !Yes, yes, yes, I know it's ages, since I last updated the blog... And lots have happened and has been happening... So I'm quite puzzled as what to begin with... OK, where's the beginning? For I wrote something here last time in March, then...err...ok, let's say I can start with the news about me and the ERASMUS scholarship. Well, I applied for the scholarship just because. It was a very random and spontaneous decision, teehee. One day a friend of mine came to me and asked ' Hey Magda, wouldn't you like to go and study abroad for a year? You know, the Erasmus thingy...' , to which I replied ' Yeah, sounds cool, but I guess I'm too dumb to get accepted.' Hm, and that's what I got in response ' Oh come on, let's not exaggerate, silly... They don't take idiots, but they will take you. And me.' hahaha, and here she got me...did it mean they don't take idiots BUT could make an exception for us. :P OR they don't take idiots, and for we are not idiots, so we'll be accpeted. ??!! :P hahahah, that was funny. But! Coming back to the point. She added the deadline for the giving in the application forms was on the next day, so I said I'd have to think it over before I decide. And so I did - looked through the offers, and thought it would be a really funky adventure if I managed to get to a university in Spain. yay! Ok, and so I did give in my application. I knew it was risky and there was actually little chance for 2 reasons : the first one me having not the best notes [err...;p] and the second one being that the students finishing now the 3rd year of studies were to be given places at the universities first. But well, I took a chance...and made it. Yes...but no joy yet, as I wasn't accpeted to the university i wanted, namely they let me go to any other univerisity I chose but for the one in Spain. YES, indeed, damn. Because it turned out too many people applied for that one. Hm, but ok, I can live with that. So I chose another one - in France this time. I was shocked the results were announced so quickly ,and that I got in. :O Whoah, I'm not such an imbecile if they want me to go for such an exchange, yay! ;] Anyway, so I told them authorities I chose France... And they agreed. Ta dam! ...but that's not the end of the story. ;p After a few days I resigned. I'm not going anywhere... Hm, why? Because I don't speak French... yeah, sure, it is not necessary for me to know the language if I were going to study English Philology there, but still... the thing is the scholarship is not hgh enough to cover all the student's needs, so you have to have quite a lot of money on your own. Or you could find yourself a part-time job there. So here you have the explanation - it, in turn, would be impossible for me due to my lack of knowledge of the French language. So I think I will say thank you [which I have actually already done ;] and have a try next year. Then I will go for sure...even if I'm not accepted to the university I choose. :)
The second news is I'm going to England at the end of June, hooray! But this, methinks [uh, how Shakespeare'ian :P], most of you already know for some time.... But just for your general knowledge - I'm departing from Warsaw on June 30, at 5.25p.m. :D And believe it or not, but this will be the first flight ever in my short life.... Uh, I'm a bit nervous about it. I mean, I'm not nervous about the flight in general, but rather about my luggage... Yeah, I know I'm weird. :P But I really get strange ideas about what can happen to my luggage while I'll be not looking... too much expanded my imagination is, I guess. Nothing bad can happen, right??? So, I'm flying to London on Saturday to get there the very same evening. :D And that's how it will begin... I've got quite a few plans and ideas for the holiday... Hopefully, all of them will be realised... I can't freaking wait!!! I'm really excited at the mere thought of going there agian! and of seeing those faces again! and meeting a few new people I've promised to visit and meet! ;)) haha, and so I could enumarate the resons to go back to London. But this time my visit will not only be limited to London. :) And let the rest be silence....or something like that. ;p
Ok, and for I gotta go now, so I will not tell you anything else right now. But....uh, ok, next time. Cheers for the comments! See you in the next episode. ;)
March 11 London's Underground HistoryWow, thats a great site I have found today...
about all the disused stations on London's Underground,
which are often referred to as GHOST STATIONS...
Sounds a bit spooky, doesnt it?!
The site is surely worth visiting,
a very engrossing one.
Strongly recommended...
Enjoy!
February 28 breakHere I am, back to work again. I mean - back to studies, my looooong break is far away in the past, all my courses make me devote most of my time to learning/reading/writing again. I havent written anything new here for a while because of two rasons; the first of them being that I was ill for a week or so, and the second one is that I think I need a break from blogging and keeping you up to date ;) I dont fancy it nowadays so more as I did in the beginning, so I guess the new blog entries will appear seldomer now. I was even wondering whether to delete the space at all...But I guess not yet, so no need to worry...
Yup, I was ill, and well, still have been - the rests of my nasty cold has still been accompanying me -_-
But I feel much better than before...all that coughing, sneezing and the temperature...uh, I felt so weak. Awful, I hate being sick because of tht constant feeling of overpowering weakness.
And again, Im having sh*tloads of work to do...a few in-class presentations, obligatory novels/articles to read, essays to write on some literary topics, tests to pass and so on and so forth. But then again - this is actually nothing new or surprising, everybody knows that studying my faculty means being in constant rush with all that job. And even if I complain here from time to time, I do like it. ;) I like always to be busy with something, I can't stand boredom or too much free time. Those 3 weeks were a good break for me to recharge my batteries, but now - back to work again, yay ! ;)
The funny thing is, I still come across friends whom I havent seen for a longer while, and they keep on not recognizing me,lolz! They just pass me in silence, have to turn around and give them a shout, thats amusing. Come on, I only cut my hair...
On 17 March I will probably go to a concert in 'Areszt' (thats the name of the club here in Torun, the literal translation of the name is 'Jail' :P). My friend's band is giving a rock show, it might be a funky night, so I think I will give it a go. The band is called 'CT' and they play nice, Polish rock. If you want to listen to one of their songs, check this link out: http://www.myspace.com/ctrockband . I hope you'll like it, let me know if you have a try. :) And remember, their tunes are in Polish. ;)
What else would I like to mention...Oh, I know! I started to learn Spanish! This time I seriously got down to it, so I hope I'll soon be able to show off here a bit, lol! Im just learning on my own, relying on the materials borrowed from my friend, so we'll see how it goes. But well, Im very optimistic about it. I have always loved the sound of Spanish, it's so...melodious! Just beautiful, I do want to speak fluently in this language. I am actually able to build quite a few phrases/sentences/words, but well, this is not enough to communicate at least quite fluently. So, wish me luck. :)
Oh, and a piece of news for those of you, who are my not British but American friends, this time! My US history course began this semestre, and I had already one class, during which we argued wether Christopher Columbus was a barbarian who caused the massacre of native Americans greater than the Holocaust itself,or was he just an innocent explorer. ;) It was a pretty involving verbal fight, indeed. The lecturer is a really nice guy, so I think the course is going to be very interesting.
And additionally I began one more course, this one strictly connected with my future as a teacher of the English language. These are facultative classes, which means I dont have to attend them. But as Im not sure whether I want to become teacher or not, I considered it not a bad idea. Plus, its the last year when the course is free, so no wonder I hadnt thought long before I took it up, right?
And thats mainly it...
Till the next entry.
Take care you all. :) February 18 What happened in the year I was born?
Yup, the catastrophe in Chernobyl happened when my mum was pregnant... do you know she was officially ALLOWED to have an abortion if she willed ?! They were afraid that the babies could have been born both mentally and physically handicapped... This means my mum could have got rid of her unborn baby [ME !!] totally legally. -_-
But she decided to take a risk and not to do it. She claims she wouldnt be able to live with the awareness of what she would have done. And I'm SO-O-O grateful to her she did NOT do it... OMG, I can't even imagine this... I wouldn't be here now typing this all for you... Spooky.
So... THANK YOU, MUMMY, FOR GIVING ME THE CHANCE TO LIVE, LUV YA LOTS!!!!!!!
And now something absolutely off topic... ;)
The new Magda has been born, woohoo, changed my hairstyle [decided to cut my hair short at last!] and bought the new funky glasses, love them :P
And in the act of self-admiration I took a few pics on my mobile... [this explains the poor quality of the photo below]
How do I look now ? I guess it's not too bad, though of course could be better, LOOOOOOLZ :P
Love you all, February 08 :)Hey peole, how is life? Finally, I have decided to add a new entry. Even though I don't actually feel like typing a lot. So I will just give you a brief summary of what I have been doing recently. ;)
Ok, so I am currently sleeping till the very late morning, reading books [actually one book only, such a lil lie ;], listening to music almost 24h/day, giving lots of extra classes to my new students, attending my private course in German, meeting with those long unseen friends of mine, hanging on Skype chatting to one particular friend [Pat:P], spending evening hours on msn chatting to people, partying on weekends, buying clothes [yup, definitely you can call it 'a weakness'!], eating out more often than I usually allow myself to, playing with my new mobile and getting to know its funky possibilities (I'm a big kiddo and I will always be if it comes to electronical devices;), telling myself I should revise some material for my classes next semestre [yeah, just telling myself...I cannot focus on avctually doing the thing, huh], drinking lots of tea [my new hobby, lolz], trying to become strong enough to cut down on sweets [hahahahahahahahaha, yeah - go on, laugh with me :D], downloading loads of new music [shhh, no comments, please], and what else... I am just being lazy as much as I can, frankly speaking... Oh, and I am going to sleep much too late. Boo. But I cannot help it, I have already got used to going to bed late at night, and now even if I try to lie my head down onto the cushion before midnight, I simply cannot fall asleep. o_O And then my mum likes to go crazy on about 'Child, you do not get enough sleep.', huh... Or she likes to call me 'a lazy arse wasting her time' hmm...no idea why, LOL. Anyway, as you can see I'm simply enjoying the break I am given, teehee. ;) At least now I can do anything I feel like.
But what a shame! Only 7 days left of this sweet laziness! Gotta make full use of it. ;) January 25 I'M FREE !!!3 WEEKS OFF UNI !!!
WOOOHOOO!!!
FROM TODAY ON !
HAD MY LAST EXAM TODAY AND NOW THE WINTER BREAK IS ALL MINE!

heehee!!
Now both you and me can have some break from my ''adventurous'' university. ;)
So... enjoy while you can, tee hee!
I'm going to use these 3 weeks as best as I can, which means I'm gonna party, party and paaaaarty a lot, yay!
I have to get my life back again, meet friends, go to clubs, to the cinema...
just go out!!!
So, wish me fun! ;)
And welcome back!
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx January 11 Every student's dream time...exams!Exams...yeah, the time of doom has come, hehe. I'm having only 3 exams [formally] in this exam session, but additionally I'm having various tests I gotta pass to be given a credit for the next semestre at the uni. So all in all, it ain't so easy, huh. But well, every student has to struggle with exams, so I can't complain too much. One could argument it's a part of the univeristy charm, heehee.
On Monday I'll have to cope with British Cultural Studies - we covered the issues of British/American television this semestre mainly, like tv & radio drama, English/American theatre, the BBC, Shakespeare on screen, etc. Maybe they are not the most complicated topics, but there are quite a lot of factual data to be remembered actually. And I'm not the biggest fan of cramming useless info into my head, prefer more logical stuff...(ok ok, maybe I shouldn't use the word 'useless' here...but well - I already did, so... x) Which means it will be a pretty tough task for me...but I've got 4 days left. I can do it, can't I ? ;)
Later on Thursday I'm going to have an individual meeting with my Conversation class lecturer... kind of an oral exam... Most probably I'll have to deliver a 5-minute speech on some topic using some pseudo-sophisticated vocabulary I possess, lolz.
Next Monday, Jan 22 I mean, there is that coooooool [
But aaaaanyway, the last of all the superb exams I'm having on Thursday, January 25... which is DESCRPTIVE GRAMMAR, yaaaay! All those adjuncts, conjuncts, subjuncts, disjuncts, coordinations, correlatives, ellipsis, subjects, verbs, adverbials, complements, objects, concords, predicates, predications, complementations, recoverability, etc etc... LOOOOLZ :P And that's just the extract of it, of course...yummy, isn't it? :P You know Quirk's book on descriptive grammar maybe? That's our course book, our treasure, bahaha.... After each class ''with'' Quirk I feel so worn out as if I were after the most exhausting training at the gym, serious. But generally speaking, that's the most 'logical' subject this year, so I quite enjoy it even though it's often so freaking confusing. ;)
And that is to be my last exam during this winter session, true true... Oh, I forgot about the individual meetings concerning Phonetics... yeah, but that shouldn't be anything very stressful. And when is it to take place....ermmm... ah, on Monday, an hour before the exam in Cultural Studies, huh. Our lecturer in Phonetics this year turned to be an Australian freak...geeeez, this means that too often we have to listen about his Australian adventures and his beautiful Aussie accent instead of the British one he is supposed to teach us
In conclusion, this is my plan for the forthcoming 2 weeks... I'm going to be quite busy, indeed. That's why I'm not available on Messenger so often as before, which should be rather understandable, isn't it.
So wish me luck, people,
I'll catch you after the drama is over!! January 04 My Career Interest ReportMagdalena, your top career is Math and Science ![]() Based on your responses to our Career Interest Inventory, we have an understanding of what types of career areas are right for you and why. Professions in the fields of math and science involve using analytical thought. That is, most jobs in these areas require thinking deeply and applying skills to solve a particular problem. For example, an economist using their math skills can track how interest rates influence home buying trends. A scientist, such as a physicist, may help us understand how different types of energies can be used to create new appliances. Information gathered by people in these types of professions is incredibly useful but most people fail to appreciate the complexity and creativity involved in the solutions. Despite popular belief, most people in math and science are imaginative types who enjoy creating a new world of information and possibilities. To people in this career area, nothing is more exciting than to think about "what if." A job is not just a job. It serves other needs that are important not to ignore. Don't forget to consider different aspects of your personality when thinking about your specific job interests. Below we've given you some ideas to keep in mind. Following this, the jobs that we've listed for you were personally picked for you with these needs in mind. Although everyone would enjoy having some money, you want more than that. Whether you actually live in a lap of luxury isn't the point either. Rather, your desire to have certain comforts in life partly relates to your job interests. In addition to making money, jobs carry other benefits too. For example, you may not make as much money being an artist, but it carries a certain amount of prestige compared to other higher paying jobs. You want to have a job associated with having favorable qualities so that you make a good impression with others. A bit of recognition does not hurt either in your book. It's far better to work hard and receive some accolades then it is to work just as hard and not have others admire you for it. Given that this is the case, think about aiming for jobs that are seen as admirable by society at large. In your area, think about jobs that connote high creativity, nobility, or intelligence. Being around people is one of the perks of the job. You are social by nature and while some people see socializing as a waste of time, working with others increases your enthusiasm for what you do. The thought of sitting in front of your computer all day without interacting with people would be joyless to you. Maybe it's that you like bouncing ideas off of other people or you just like taking breaks with people. Whatever the case, make sure you look for jobs that allow you to work with others in some way. It would not only make you happy but also productive. EXAMPLE OCCUPATIONS FROM YOUR TOP 4 CAREER AREAS
On this test, we presented you with a number of questions asking you to pick one out of three job descriptions you would prefer. We also asked questions assessing some of your personality needs.
