Sounds a bit spooky, doesnt it?!

It was a freaky day... I had extra-classes with children in the morning till 1 p.m. After having come back home I had to fulfill my duties, namely to do the weekly cleaning ;) Meanwhile, I contacted my friend to meet her at the shopping centre at 4 p.m. Geee...I came late... only 10 minutes but still...Gosh, recently, I have quite often been late to the meetings, and that's not a good feature, I'm aware of the fact :S

Anyway, we met in the end and bummed around the store for about 2 hours. Then our plan was to come to my place and begin to learn... Yeah. That was the plan, truly, I can promise xD! But obviously, I cannot concentrate on learning when I'm accompanied, hehe ;) errr...I can laugh at myself now, but what will be on Thursday & Friday when I have the exams in Cultural Studies and Latin, respectively?? Woohoo, thse will be difficult battles... But still my goal is to win them both, lol.

Anyway, it is late at night now and I'm watching Meet Joe Black... perhaps it's not the best movie ever...[well...surely it isn't], but still it's quite ok. And it stars such a great personality which is Anthony Hopkins, one of the few actors whose acting I think is brilliant :)! He is a master in his domain, no doubts about it:) Besides, Brad Pitt acts there [I don't understand what women see in this guy...meh. Yet he's not handsome at all!! for me:P], and Claire Forlani has her part here as well. And that is a beautiful woman, I think; she has wonderful eyes.

Although I am not the biggest fan of this particular film, I like a few of the quotations taken out of it. They are both witty and intelligent, which is always a good combination, isn't it ;)? Therefore, I'd like to present a few of them to you. Here they are :

High time to begin the season!

Gosh, I'm sooo happy the speedway season is due to begin :)))

The first serious trainings, the first sociable meetings & the last preparations...
Everything's been ready by now, especially the fans ;P hehe...And on Saturday, the first sociable event took place on the Toruń's stadium this season :D It was the so called 'Turniej Par' ['The Tournament of Couples'...am not sure if it is properly translated..:( ]
Unfortunately, I couldn't support my players in person at the stadium Boo... I had to take part in the marriage ceremony of my relative...'had to'...sounds as if I were forced to do it, as if it was a kind of terrible experience, lol :P But whatever the reason, it resulted in my absence during the first official happening in Torń this season That's a pity...Especially that the entrance was free ;P
But luckily, I got the whole summary of it from my friends ;) And, of course, I took a glimpse on the webpage : http://www.przegladzuzlowy.pl/news_torun.php?id=1089886217 [polish one]. About 5 000 fans participated in it, that's a nice outcome. And the winner couple were: Tomasz Chrzanowski with Jacek Krzyżaniak. It must have been a bit surprising...The revival of Krzyżaniak :O ?? hmm...a nice surprise...
Our Toruń's players Karol Ząbik and Robert Sawina finished with the 3rd place, and that's OK:>...

'Un Mondo Perfetto'

... namely 'A Perefct World' [1993], directed by Clint Eastwood, is the movie I watched yesterday for the...don't know exactly which time:P Yea, it's nice, I like it much and would like to give you a short summary of it...

The film takes place during the fall of 1963. Eight-year old Phillip Perry (T.J. Lowther), the son of a Jehovah's Witness mother, is staying home while all the other children are out trick-or-treating. But then prison escapee Butch Haynes (Kevin Costner) appears in his kitchen and, needing a hostage, he grabs the little kid. Phillip curiously looks up to the fugitive and pretty willingly accompanies him. On their way Butch gets rid of his fellow escapee, and together with the boy heads for the Texas highway. The cop in pursuit is Police Chief Red Garnett (Clint Eastwood), on the road with whom is Sally Gerber (Laura Dern), a pushy pre-feminist criminologist, along with a federal agent who is an expert sharpshooter. Butch is not particularly anxious to make it to the Texas borderline, and neither is Garnett in any particular hurry to catch Butch. Everyone is aware of the bond that develops between a captive and a captor. The case in 'A Perfect World', however, is far from normal, even for these circumstances. The connection between the escapee and the boy is not something nebulous, but a father-and-son-like relationship that profoundly affects them both. Once the are together, neither of them can be the same - spiritually, physically or morally. As such a realtion is formed between them, the paths of Butch and Garnett gradually come together till the final confrontation, after which Garnett confesses, "I don't know nothing. I don't know a damn thing."

Costner develops a credible character who comes across as believable and sympathetic despite his obvious criminal nature. Butch is a bad guy and the film never tries to make him heroic but it also allows him to grow attached to Philip. Costner gives a quiet and strong performance and the remarkable Lowther never goes wrong in his role as the needy little boy. Eastwood's role is strictly secondary as the well tested lawman who understands justice without seeking vengeance. Furthermore, Costner is emotional and very engaging in his role. He manages brilliantly to show the depth of character never before seen. I would even take a risk and say that this is the performance of his career! The Butch's facial expression as he watches a young boy get slapped by his father is particularly memorable, conveying the anger the hero feels about his own upbringing. The acting of the young Lowther is equally professional, although the boy is only 7 years old when taking part in the film:)

Unfortunately, the final [circa] 20 minutes are so melodramatic that even seem to be ludicrous. I do not negate the fact that the scene is moving and heat-breaking but well, let us not cheat ourselves --> it IS a bit too long... And that's exactly the one of the very few drawbacks I discovered while watching the movie. But still, Costner along with Lowther make such a stunning team and their adventures are so miscellaneous that 'A Perfect World', though not so perfect, is very good, indeed.

And finally, to sum up, 'A Perfect World' can be the evidence for Hollywood still being able to produce moving and intelligent films...:)

Tym razem nie po angielsku, ponieważ stronka, o której chcę napisać, jest polska:P Więc nie ma sensu pisanie w innym języku, niż mój ojczysty;) o lol;) no dobra, ale do rzeczy...

Natknęłam się na stronkę RRR [link znajdziecie w jednej z moich Custom Lists] czyli Rasta Roots Reggae jako Najbardziej Pozytywna Strona W Sieci...no i generalnie rzecz biorąc zgodzę się z tym jakże 'skromnym' stwierdzeniem autorów tej site:D hehe...Stronka ta nawiązała współpracę z Radiem Pozytywnej Wibracji! [chcesz posłuchać? zajrzyj tutaj : http://www.rpw.com.pl/ ] i ogólnie ją oceniając, uważam , że jest świetna:) Można dowiedzieć się wielu ciekawych wiadomości nie tylko na temat samej muzyki, jej korzeni itp itd, ale na temat całej rastafariańskiej tradycji. Wyjaśnia być może jeszcze niejasne dla niektórych różnice między pokrewnymi 'gatunkami', tj. roots, ragga, riddim, dancehall itd...a to jest dość istotne, gdyż ja sama jeszcze do niedawna miałam wątpliwości, którego słowa użyć w odniesieniu do której z kapel :P Imponujący zbiór danych, odpowiedzi na chyba każde pytanie, jakie sobie wymyślicie...

Poza tym obszerny dział poświęcony historycznemu już autrytetowi w tej dziedzinie...Boba Marley'a mam na myśli oczywiście;) Znajdziecie tam nawet texty jego piosenek, dla mnie bomba:) Dodatkowo, między wszelkimi innymi ciekawostkami, także i wywiad z Bobem, który kończy się słowami :

'Nie mam czasu na walkę. Jeśli biję się, wyrządzam sobie krzywdę. Zostawiam Bogu sądzenie. Kamienie nigdy nie zatrzymają biegu rzeki.'

Co jest mile zaskakujące, to możliwość ściągnięcia całkiem sporej liczby plików muzycznych polskich reggae'ujących wykonawców:) No i oczywiście pokaźna kolekcja linków do ciekawych stronek;)

Podsumowując : odkryłam rewelacyjną stronkę, więc zachęcam do jej odwiedzenia:)

Uhmm...Friday...passing by...nothing outstanding or peculiar has already happend. And I guess nothing such will happen due to me having no special plans for the evening. But I'm looking forward to tomorrow morning when I'm having extra-classes with my new pupils, both of them being Russian :> As far as I know they do not speak Polish well, so I'm very curious how the lesson will come off. I hope I will succeed to communicate with those kids easily somehow for I don't know Russian at all:D

Changing the topic, I'm going to paste the lyrics of the song I especially like; it is Polish and I won't translate it as it has the magic implication in its polish words:P It's by COMA, the band to the official site of which I put the link in the 'Favourites' :D I love these lyrics, love all their songs, they're so truthful, maybe melancholic and even sad at times but always carrying the message and being sung with the real affection...

'A.I.'

Today I'm going to present here a few quotes from the movie I fell in love with the moment I saw it... I mean 'Artificial Intelligence', if you care for the title...

If you know the story the movie tells you will surely associate these excerpts with the proper situations. I won't care for making its summary now but if you are truly interested in it, go the http://www.geocities.com/smvgrey/AI.html l where you can find a short review (in English;).

So, here we go...

David: My mommy doesn't hate me! Because I'm special! And unique! Because there's never been anyone like me before, ever! Mommy loves Martin because he is real, and when I am real Mommy's going to read to me and tuck me in my bed and sing to me and listen to what I say and she will cuddle with me and tell me every day a hundred times a day that she loves me!

I guess that one day I will paste here the review I wrote (myself;) after watching the amazing movie. It's written in Polish,of course, and I am sure I will be too lazy to translate it into English... So, it will be understandable only for those who command 'my' language:P Well...but all of you who don't speak Polish won't lose much:P So, there is nothing to worry about;) Indeed, I don't know why I'm writing such bullshit, I don't even know why I'm writing here anything at all. Simply, I've decided that during those free weeks of my 'winter holidays' I will drop a few lines in here to make this place more...enjoyable and not so official:P 'cause I'm not the type of personality you would describe as strict, formal or quiet...:P Nee, not at all:D

So, coming back to the point (see, those my digressions..;) there are many moments of reflection in 'A.I.' but I cannot neglect all those funny situations showing the naivity of the lil David or the Gigolo Joe's nature (well, you can figure out his ocuppation by his name:P)...

Gigolo Joe: Are you in trouble? Have you run away from someone?
David: My mother told me to run away.
Gigolo Joe: Why did she say that?
David: I guess because Henry didn't like me.
Gigolo Joe: Why was that?
David: Martin came home.
David: Martin is Mommy and Henry's real son. After i find the Blue Fairy then I can go home. Mommy will love a real boy. The Blue Fairy will make me into one.
